Default Rear Blade Pics/ Question

photo[2].jpg

photo[3].jpg

I have this blade purchased if I want it. The seller states that it is an IH rear blade, but looks different than the older ones I have seen. He wants $200 for it, does this sound out of line? Thanks for you input, Jeff.

Yeah, I did not think it was an IH blade either...maybe a newer CCC or MTD version? I don't know, it looks to be in very good shape, seller said it is, photos look good, I am mulling it over, would be nice to have a rear blade!

I'd get it, even if it isn't IH. It will do, what you need it to do. I want a rear blade, as well.

Default Home Depot has brinly items

Just got looking at home depot web site, they have a brinly rear blade for $189, as well as a box scraper for the same price. I think there was also an agrifab box scraper for $199. I don't know how long it last, but if you buy $249 worth on line it is shipped to your door for free. Also, they had some box weights I think they were 43 lbs for around $60...I don't know how good the newer implements are constructed, but the prices seemed reasonable.

I have a brinly rear blade and as flimsy as they seem they actually do a really nice job. Then you can spin them around backwards and use them as a leveling drag on soft stuff so it doesn't dig in. I love mine

I have seen that thread and looked at extremes web site. Personally I don't care for there blade, not knocking there product in anyway, I am sure it is well built and works as it is designed to do, however I prefer the blade in my pics over there's for a couple of reasons. One being that it more adjustable, I think xtremes says it only rotates 15 degrees from side to side, and the other is I prefer the blade to sit further behind the tractor. I have used blades on larger tractors and find myself watching the blade when using it to see what it is doing. I think xtremes would be hard to see since it sets so close to the tractor.

I plan to buy this blade next week, of course I'll try to work him some on it and get it as cheap as I can. Maybe I can figure out who made it, it looks to be a heavy duty well built blade in good condition.... of course seeing it in person may change my mind, pics can be deceiving.

Bringing this back from the dead, maybe someone who hasn't seen this thread before will know something about it. Here are some pics of it from different angles:
113.jpg114.jpg130.jpg
132.jpg133.jpg

I think it is 48" wide, weighs in some were around 150+lbs, is made to fit a brinly adapter, the tongue is approximately 3" diameter pipe, looks like the stud on the rear above the blade is made to hang wheel weights on, there is no wear edge (never had one, no mounting bolt holes for it), swivels 360 degrees (you have to remove the blade stop hoop and flop it over to allow it to hold the blade stationary when it's cutting edge is facing the rear). I did purchase it and is sitting in my shop waiting on me to get my tractor put back together so it can come out and play.

I saw a post on here, but can't remember where, and have not been able to find it again , that had a cub with a fel and the same blade mounted on the rear of it, only it was painted white. I will continue my search and maybe they know where it came from, anyone with any ideas on what it is, let me know!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
