Well, I went out yesterday afternoon to pick up a Cub Cadet off a gentleman and ended up having to go the ER!
We were pushing it up on my trailer and the undercarriage got caught on the mesh gate. We backed it off and I tried to shove the spring mechanism down to pull the mule drive out and it snapped and my thumb got wedged somehow between the carriage and the shaft. I was caught for 10 minutes in the tractor. Smashed my thumb pretty good. I have no feeling in my thumb at all. The doctor said it severely bruised all the nerves in my thumb. I might have to part this one out because it smashed my thumb!!! hehe Just kidding! It is pretty rough though. |

Thanks guys.
Duke, Yeah, it did suck! We couldn't figure out what was holding me. Everytime he tried to move something it increased the pressure on it. I'm glad someone else was there. I would still be there! Eric, This 1200 sure fought back! |

That sucks Mike. It seems like cubs like to fight when you work on them.

Thanks Guys!
Everything is still sitting on the trailer even. I haven't even attempted to take anything off yet. Talking with the guy after it happened he was telling me about he went to the neighbors a few years ago with the tractor with snowblower mounted on the front and it was a wet snow and it got plugged up. He said he doesn't know if when he got off the tractor he partially hit the pto switch or what but he put his hand in the auger housing to try to unplug the snow and it kicked on and his jacket sleeve got pulled in and he lost the end of his finger. I got the snowthrower with it too. Adam, "Christine" is fitting for this tractor for sure!! |

I was just thinking the exact same thing, LOL. Too bad you can't tell if Steven King used to own it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
