Any thing I need to be aware of that can cause major headaches or is it a pretty straight forward swap???

Electrical hookups...?

Started the tear down tonight, got as far as I could without draining fluid...Need to get 2 rear end gaskets when I get ready to button them back up after the switch.. Pretty straight forward so far...

Anyone know if the 1872 came pre wired for the Rear PTO? Be nice to just pop the switch out and plug and play the harness...

Look like it is sort of wired for it. You need to add this part to the harness. 725-3136
Or at least the way it appears on Parts Tree's website.

Problem there is that the 982 doesn't have that piece. Or at least mine doesn't.

i just looked at the diagram again and it shows it for all models so maybe you don't need it. Or if you do, then it's already on the harness. I just know that I didn't use it on my 982.

Did you add the 2nd fuse holder? The 982 has two on it and the 1872 has one...I seen in the wiring schematic the one is for the lights and the other for the PTO's..

Pulled the covers and both the 1872 and 982 had clean oil and no sludge in the pumkins....Gonna fill them back up and get the 982 washed up....Will be letting that one go and the 1872 will get the 3pt and PTO...

Gaskets were 8 bucks each which I didnt think was too bad.

So far it has been pretty much straight forward..

Will get some pics when I put the items on the 1872....
