I don't know anything about "tiny house shows" but I have a friend from the Chicago area that thinks she would like to have one.
If you are the kind of person who doesn't think they need a hundred tons of "stuff" I think a tiny house would be fantastic. I would kinda like to have one, just to spend the winter in. It sure would cut down on the heating bill.

Good luck getting your local standards police to allow you to live in a "Tiny House".
Most locals have minimum square footage and building standards that are more than those "Tiny Houses" have to offer. |

Even if your trying to build a regular house you have to jump through a million hoops, I have a friend with a construction company and he will admit it a lot easier to buy a house than build a new one.

Once you pay for the necessary resources, water, sewer, power, increasing the size of the house, within reason is not a great expense.
If you live in the right location, and the home is properly built, even heat is not much money,,, Tiny homes are gonna be a passing fad, IMHO,,,, Heck, if you want to save money, sell some of those Cub Cadets!! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
