#1 Tiller and Original
I found a #1 tiller for sale on ebay with no gear box, would this fit on my Original and about how much do gear boxes go for.

No it will not work, at least IMO. From what I've learned here, 7hp isn't much for running a tiller, even one without extensions. And the spring assist(assuming you have one) will not be able to cope with the weight of the tiller. Tiller would probably bend some stuff on an O'. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my
 . Gearboxes, think I've seen some go for $125??

IH never offered a tiller for the original,It was made by the SL Allen Co.It had a motor on it and you pulled it behind the tractor.

As a matter of fact, I'am headed there now! You just dont know untill you try. Starting out with no extensions maybe an eazier way. My tractor, when in farmer 1st. is very slow.

It is possible. I've seen an original with a tiller before, but it had hydraulic lift and a creeper gear, but as the others said 7hp isn't really enough hp for a tiller. I say 10hp min with one extension and no less than 12hp with both extensions.

you may be able to do what my grandpa did for years.... plow first, then go back and till.... that may make it easy enough.... dunno

Thats the way i do it,its more fun
 and its not as hard on the tiller.
