Well, I pulled the trigger on a new smoker. Now I didn't drive as far as Frank did recently, but I did run 650 miles round trip, lasting 11 hours and hit 4 states.
My son and I made the trip, so it was well worth it. Farthest I've gone for a cub and prolly won't go any farther. I picked up this nice 1512. Snagged from the second owner who only had it a year. She runs out nice and is one of the nicer, original diesels I've picked up. Has 741 hours on the clock. Needs some driveshaft work, pretty common on the diesels, and has the disconnect clutch. The PO added a larger battery to the back of the frame, but it's bolted on and will eventually be removed. Kinda nice to have the extra juice to fire it right up. My first tractor with the exhaust turned up like the big boys. I'll see if I like it or not before deciding whether to turn it back down or not. Eventually will add a Cat 0 to the back. This makes smoker #5 in my collection and I'm only missing an 882 for the set. One of these days I'll find one and talk the better half into it. I think she's given up saying no. No more rambling, time for some pics.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
