Why do you like Cub Cadets?
Why do you like Cub Cadets? Here is why I do:
Dad has always had one since I've been born. He owns a 125 and I learned how to operate it like it was the back of my hand, and I contribute that to my ease to driving when that time came around. We used it to cut my parent's grass- they live on just over an acre- and it was perfect for it. It would mow anything and everything. It seemed like it would take everything that my brothers, sister and I could throw at it. Spinning wheels, rough driving (hey, we were kids!) it never complained. We used to hook up a pop up camper to it and haul it around the yard when needed, up and down hills with no struggle of the engine. We also used it for tilling our garden. When it came time for me to move out, I knew I wanted to find a CC of my own for mowing and snow removal. We never drove the 125 in the winter; we had a Farmall H with a blade for that, but I knew that a blade could be mounted to a CC. Remembering the things we used the 125 for (and still use it for) persuaded me to get my own 147. I've used it for mowing since April and it does that great. I've also purchased a blade for it and I can't wait for the snow to fly to see how great it'll do in the winter.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
