First Cub Cadet

Hello, This is my first post, although I have been reading here for awhile trying to decide which model Cub I wanted to buy. I was holding out for a diesel but came across this 2072 for $350 and couldn't pass it up. It's going to take some work to get it going. I just got it home tonight and threw a battery in it to see if the electrical was good but the starter wouldn't engage so that will be first. I see a burn't mark above the batteries positive post so I am guessing someone closed the seat with a battery charger attached and burned something up. Headlights and oil light come on when I turn the ignition switch to the first position then the headlights go out at the second position. Ill have to search for a wiring harness and get acquainted.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
