Another 169

Went today to look at a 169. Didn't really want another tractor in the least but it was 5 miles from me. Turned out to be a basket case. Rebuilt 16hp was actually a slightly smoking 12hp with a new head gasket and a few ignition parts

. Also no headlight, pto clutch had a bolt used at the pto button and wore the thrust button, no hour meter, gas tank and dash pedestal junk and not specific 169 parts. It did have the correct serial number and hydro lift so I went ahead and bought it. Can't decide if I really want to put several hundreds into parts and restore it but probably will. I have a parts 129 to lessen the blow so I'll do something with it after I convert it back to a starter/generator. This is my 3rd 169 and the last one was fully redone.

Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
