Well I was finally able to pull the pics off of my phone. After resizing them to 480x480 for posting, they looked "squished".
I put an album of 600x480 pics of the Free 126 in an album here: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/a...hp?albumid=576 Enjoy! I replaced the front tires and took her for a spin around the yard. The steering is tighter than Carls 107 that I just rebuilt the steering on! Everything is great except for one minor detail. I almost found out the hard way that the brakes are non-existant. The linings are gone and the backing plates are dangling in midair. Even at 5mph, seeing the garage wall closing in and the brake pedal doing nothing will sure raise your heart rate. ![]() I'm really liking this old gal and will be putting her to work soon at my new house. Now I just need to find a mower deck. Anyone within a reasonable distance of Cleveland have a 38" that they would part with? I've since given the 126 and Carls 107 a good bath with the pressure washer. Definite improvement for both. I'll post pics as I can.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
