Ever feel like it's not your day?
Do you ever feel like it's not your mechanical day? Normally I don't have a problem working on anything in the garage, but today was an exception.
I wanted to get the tiller mounted up to see how that looks/what type of shape it was in after sitting for years. Here is the lift pin that b.balk got me. Fits perfectly and was what I was looking for.  I started off with removal of the mower deck, which involved the undercarriage. The front rod did not want to come out.  Taking hitch off.  Forgot how ungodly long this belt is.  I could not get the tiller mounted. I suspected something was wrong with the tiller box. Yup, I was right. Bent.  I took it off the tractor; didn't want to be wrenching on the rear end. I could not get it bent back (the rear holes do not line up) so I opted to put it back on and use a smaller diameter rod. It gave me an opportunity to finally get my serial number and date it.  I suspect it's made in 1970, unless I dated it wrong. After much struggling, I had forgotten how much of a PITA these are to hook up. I did however get it to go.   Want instant power steering? Install a tiller. I didn't do any yard work with it as we've gotten approx 8-10" of rain in the last few days and everything is flooded. Would I like a spring assist? You have no idea.
