We had an old Homelite 1050 Automatic with a 30" bar on it on the farm we used to cut wood to heat two of the hog barns and the shop. I learned to run chainsaw with this one along with a smaller Shindaiwa. Me and one of the guys that work for me pulled the saw apart, cleaned it all up, and rebuilt the carb. It was TERRIBLE to find parts for it. Well, IT LIVES AGAIN!! Got a big dead oak tree I want to cut down out at the house. This saw is MEAN!! It has a 100CC motor on it and is stinkin LOUD. I honestly I can't believe I started using this thing when I was only about 14!! We'll see if I can still handle her..... It's a pretty heavy saw. I've ran a Stihl of the same size and this saw probably weighed half again more.

Anybody else have any old "Cub Cadet era" chainsaws, weed eaters or the like?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
