Default Been a whole week since I bought my last Cub....

Hey all, I'm fairly new to Cub Cadets, but my buddy thinks I'm off to a good start. I live in central Il, bought my first cub, a 1650, in april of this year. I got it for cheap, because believe it or not it shook pretty bad. After getting it home saw that it was missing two motor mounts on one side of engine, and of course the iso mounts were shot. Ordered a ci oil pan and new mounts, and she rose from the ashes so to speak.Picked up a 3 point from a friend, bought a model 2 tiller, and been using it since to mow/till. Last week while on craigs**** I found a 782 in decent shape. What the seller thought to be a pto out of adjustment was actually a loose end cap on the muffler. The only thing missing is the grille, and a 3 point. I, with the help of my buddy, plan to swap the cast aluminum rear end for a ci rear end this week end, and make the 782 my mowing and tilling machine. Then with the loader build that is already in progress, I will be using the 1650 for mock up. I plan to tear it down, replace a few wear items, steering, bearings, etc... Put a fresh coat of paint, decals, and hopefully a finished fel before the white stuff flies. So far for tractors, implements, and misc parts, I'm olny into these absolutely necessary items for under a thousdand $. It took a lot of fancy talking, a nice spin, and a couple romantic dinners to convince my wife of the necessity of these beauty's, but i got it done.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
