Around here I'd say that's kind of high considering the hours and it doesn't have a 60" deck.

They'll run a long, long time. I've only overhauled a few of the 3 cylinder motors. None of them were gas. Most of the diesels were done in from overheating, or lack of maintenance to the fuel system. (Worn out injectors.)

I'd say your off. At least if you mow around anything, or your moving really fast. I'm going to guess your mowing between 1 and 1.5 acres, depending on how many things you mow around.

Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
