Default New 1864!!
So I took your guys advice and purchased an 1864 instead of buying a new tractor. The one I got is one that was linked to my original thread and it was suggested that I buy it. I took a 4 hour road trip today in a snow storm to get it, lol. I had no choice though as there was another buyer coming tomorrow to look at it.

Okay, first let me say, I was trying to beat the snow storm so I didn't check everything as thoroughly as I probably should have. Its still probably a decent tractor though, just needs a little TLC. That said, I cant stand shady people that cant be honest when they are trying to sell something.

So, I showed up to look at it and everything looks good to me. It fired right up, didn't smoke, didn't leak any fluids. I drove it around his driveway for a few minutes and we made a deal. Two hours later when I get home, the battery is dead and it wont start, also two of the tires are flat and the other two are about half inflated. I put it on the battery charger so that I can get it fired up and off my trailer and it was very hard to start. I finally got it to fire up but it will only run on full throttle and it dosnt run well at all. Im assuming I need to clean and adjust the carb as it seems to be running really rich. Im guessing that will fix the engine issue.

I plan to purchase a new battery tomorrow and if its not freezing cold, Ill tinker with the carb. What size battery do I need?

I didn't plan t buy new tires but it looks like Ill have too. Any recommendations?

Also, once I get it running well, Ill change all the fluids and filters. If someone has a list of NAPA filter numbers and would like to post, Id appreciate it. I can cross reference them myself but thought some one may know them off hand.

Thanks for helping me pick out my new tractor and thanks for any help I get making it new again!

By the way, power steering is sweeeeeeeet!!
