well someone made it a 105.
i havent been in a big cub mood over the winter, they got jammed in various bits of the shop since my buddy got busy out there on customers cars. this 125 i am fixing up to give to a good friend that appreciates old working stuff, he just joined here i think. i bought the 125 from my neighbor last year, now i am trying to get it going. the engine fired right up, sounds great! no smokeshow! i move the hydro lever to see if the tractor moves, and nothing. linkage is hooked up and i confirmed that it's moving the hydro shaft. the driveshaft is also turning the pump. i freed one of the hydro relief valves, i did it with long pliers, i did not split the tractor. both valves move with the release lever. the rear is full, i filled it and no giant puddles. could the filter be clogged? it's ancient! i assume my neighbor parked it yrs ago cause it stopped moving. i did not bother to ask him cause his health is not good, he's got better stuff to think about. i hear no humming from the pump at all. also the fan on the driveshaft is broken off. i would like to get this beast working before doing the paint job and replacing the missing engine tins, i also need to trade the later model deck on it to a 42" quick attach deck, the one on there is a quietline deck, looks like a 44".

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
