the k301 from the 129 "running away"
I reinstalled the 301 out of my 129 tonight. got it all wired up and fired right off, awesome. however it wants to 'run away' to full throttle even though the throttle is down at idle. i havent had a chance to set the high and low ends of the throttle but have done the rough adjustments of 2, and 2.5 turns to both. i have looked at parts tree, the engine manual, and countless images on google. on the attached picture below it looks like a spring was here to return the throttle, and it just rotted off, but i can't find a spring like it anywhere else, and i can't for the life of me remember if thier was one to start!
The governor return spring holes are a little worn out; when moving the throttle up and down i can't get the throttle to return to idle with the engine off. would this be safe to assume that is why it automatically jumps to full throttle right off the back? because of lack of tension on the spring?
