Cub 1650 deck swap help needed

I just recently helped someone revive a 1650 that had been sitting for some time. After carb repair, hydraulic hose replacement and some cleaning, it is back up and running strong. My question is, someone along the way replaced the original 44A deck with a 44C off of a x82 series ? This will cut, but...The belt is severerly pulled due to the mule drive pulleys being either too large or too far forward. Also, it appears that the deck drive pulley is too large. I had heard from others that replacing the original 44a deck with a 44c was a common replacement, can anyone help me with the steps I need to take. I know the belt is not going to last long in the present configuration.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
