Again I'm not telling him that it's rings 100 percent but you were very quick as usual to make it seem like what I said was not a possibility and I didn't exactly say use a 500 dollar leak down tester for the test for you said it's a complete waste of time but now you're ok with doing it that way. Anyway I'm just reacting as others have when they are completely shut down by you.

I just had a generator that I had to rebuild that a guy brought to me and said it needed a fuel cleaning because it ran for about 5 minutes and shut down, smoke, etc. turns out the air filter was disintegrated and when it ran it had sucked the old filter pieces inside the cylinder, melted around the rings and stuck them causing no compression, tons I blow by out the crank case vent and dipstick. Does this this happen all the time? No, but it can happen and all I was trying to say is IF those 2 symptoms he is describing are true, then it's possible and I did say compression/leak down, not just one.

The debate is not really about what test is better than the other but how sometimes you come across as the only guy here who knows what he's doing on things and the way you shut people down with your opinion/credentials just gets me going. I don't like your condescending opinions and telling me to pipe down or whatever is unnecessary because you start stuff like this with members all the time.

I'm out of this thread just please try to realize that there are others here that are experienced and do this stuff for a living too, just like you
