I have a few cubs and I really like them, I also have a workhorse green machine. My father-inlaw has about 1,000 acres +- at any 1 time and he has alot of equipment. for yard duty he has a couple machines and they are not yellw! I have used them all and they are awesome machines ! well over the holiday weekend, we went to our family cabin, (which is only a 2 hr drive in the UP). we got there thur night. Fri i get up to take care of the yard and i get out mowing and I have not used a machine that is an actual stcik shift in proly 10 yrs(been using hydro),And I have gotten really use to the cubs, so this was a real pain in the butt to me !!! After about an hr of mowing the old machine just died !! Just my luck ! well the way it died I was sure it wasnt a fuel problem, but some sort of ignition prob ! Well to my amazement, it was kinda a pain in the A$$ to get to the carb and the coil just to check stuff out, I had to take the hood ,side panels , and drill and front end off. then to get the coil out I had to take the batterry and the batt box out, Just to replace a coil that had less than 3 hrs of run time on it ! Took it to the parts store, it was a deffective part. Didnt take much to figure out the problem, I just thought it wa a pain to get to the carb or coil ! compared to my old cubs !! But im sure the newer the cub the wors it is also ! it was just kinda nice to even have my wife jump on the bandwagon, While I was on the phone telling my father-inlaw my wife piped up, we can bring 1 of the cubs up, LOL.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
