1211 h2 2 spool valve install
Like most of us, I wanted to have dual hydraulics on my 1211, but didn't want to pay the price for a cub 2 spool valve. I opted to buy a john deere H2 valve off eBay which only cost me about $45. Here's a pic of the 1 spool cub valve and the 2 spool JD valve.
 I'm mounting it to the bracket. It was pretty easy. There's a few unused holes in the cub bracket and one of them line up perfect, so I only had to drill one new hole. Here's a pic of it installed.  This is the point where the train came off the tracks. I needed a few different fittings than what I had, and there's no place to buy fittings around here on a Sunday. Since I couldn't run the lines, I figured I'd at least install the coulpers in the front and rear. I was unable to use the factory lower hole on the front of the tractor because the engine mounting rail. The engine mounts are in the way, so I had to drill a new hole next to the upper hole. I know the fittings are a little close together but as you can see the belt for the mower is right there and I wanted to keep it as far away as I could. Here's pics of the front and rear couplers installed.   When I installed the valve, I was able to use the factory lines that run to the rear-end, but I had to modify the return line a bit due to the extra width of the 2 spool valve. The factory line has some pretty tight bends that a close to the ends, so I opted to shorten it instead of making a new one.  Hopefully, I can get the rest of the fittings I need, and finish this project up next weekend.
