1st post here, have to admit that I was getting a bit aggravated at not yet being able to post several hours after I registered yesterday, (and I tried probably 8X, both to start this thread and to reply to a couple)
if this Craigslist deck will fit, I don't want it to get away! but I could use a good deck or 2, and have a chance to practically steal a nice one, though it's a few "Craigslist posting areas" away. I have numbers off of it and they make absolutely no sense to me... I have heard of the "44a/50a" and "44c/50c" but the pic of the ID plate in the ad shows no such reference. Here are the numbers, and the guy put up a pretty clear pic, I think that I am reading these right. Model// 195392100 Serial// 0351039U1226755 It is a 44", and seems to have the same front hangers as the ones on the rotten 44 and 50 that I am trying to replace. Main difference I see vs what I have is that the deck that I am looking at has 4 gauge wheels vs the 2 of the 50A that I have on my sawhorses at the moment for bearing replacement; I have a 129 and a 1200 that I have a deck for neither; and I have a buddy with a 1200 and a 1250 that have their decks, but the 44" for his 1200 is beyond "shot". and I am hoping that this deck will fit one of these tractors. also on this 50A that I have here now, do all 50A's take the same belt from blade to blade? (that one does show "50A" below its model and serial number) The model and serial numbers on that deck also made no sense to me when I went to look up the part number for a belt for it. thanks for any help in this question. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
