The PPG product that is an acrylic modified alkyd enamel paint and is similar to Case/IH Irongard is: "PPG ALK 200", which sells for $58.51 per gallon. This paint is available in the PPG 81518 Federal Yellow and 90592 White. I was told by this paint store that they carry "Shopline" PPG paint and not the "OMNI" line which is usually carried by auto parts stores. The "Shopline" paint was three times more costly than the "PPG ALK 200". Another paint store that sells primarily industrial paint to the refinery, oil, and gas industry said based on their documentation Case/IH Irongard is a acrylic modified alkyd enamel. This type enamel is still used in industrial applications. I was told that Case/IH Irongard is made by Krylon which is now owned by Sherwin Williams. I am only sharing information I have been told by people that sure seemed to know what they were talking about. However, since I know very little about the types of enamel paints I can be easily impressed by someones paint knowledge. I would sure appreciate comments on using the PPG ALK 200 paint and the paint information I have shared with you. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
