It lives! I finally got around to getting the motor put back together. Didn't run into any real problems with the reassembly. Got the cam and crank into end play spec. Same with the valves. I had to give the head the circular sandpaper rubdown, and it seems to have sealed ok. Compression seemed good, (as much as it can be measured with the ACR anyhow). After fiddle farting with the points and ignition for a while, I got it fire up and run. I seems to run good at low and medium rpms, but I need to figure out why it wont run at full throttle very well. I need to readjust the timing and possibly a carb setting, and try again. Any other suggestions on why it will not run at a higher rpm?
But all in all, so far so good. No oil leaks, no knocking, AND no smoke lol. Thanks for the advice on getting this thing together. TB
