New to Cub Cadets! Nebraska
Hello all out there! I recently acquired a model 70 Cub Cadet -for FREE!!! Hope it is repairable! Serial number is 931109.
Engine is stuck but today I managed to get it to free up and turn. Now I'm going to remove the head and see how much rust and crap is in the cylinder and how much I'll have to hone it to clean it up. I suppose some rings would also be in order when I get that done. My goal is to get it running - and let the grand-kids use it to just run around on the place and have some fun driving it!! Nothing big for now! I'll post a picture in the next few days! One big question for now - Where is the starter???? It has electrics -generator and lights but I do not see a starter. Another question -Where do I get some tires for it?? The ones on it are pretty badly rotted! I found out how heavy this thing is when I tried to load it into my pickup by hand! A BIT TOO HEAVY for this old man! Any comments will be greatly appreciated - and also encouragement will be accepted for this John Deere guy!
