Picking Her Up later
Well I kind of had a big tobockle with my 127. I bought it and brought to someone who fixed some other things for me who has done a great job. My 127 did not run when I got it because the wiring was shot. He said to bring it so he could jump it and make sure the trans and everything was good before I sunk any money into it. So he called and said it ran great but the harness was shot. So while I was waiting to finish my shed, since I had no room, I decided to just let him change the harness and do a full fluid change and tune up. Well harness was installed and the problems began. First it was starting in the run position and not turning the S/G off, then it was starting in the start position and when you let go of the key, it would shut off……. He did later admit to me that he was not the best at wiring, (as the VR was wired incorrect at first) Well here is where I am at Now. Ok, this is the issue and I have had Much great advice from everyone here !! Thanks to MattG, Darkminion, GCBailey, T-MO, and ACecil just to name a few !!!! Replaced Parts: Wire Harness from Porch Electric Coil Points Condenser (Ignition Switch) used from parts tractor Starter Solenoid (Used from parts tractor) So, first it was starting in the start position and when you let the key go to the run position it turned off. Checked at the coil, when in run position, there was not 12v at the coil, hence why it turned off. When I let it run for a few seconds in the start position, the battery was charging correctly and was also showing correct on the dash gauge, and had 12v at the coil. After some advice, I had him change the ignition switch with the correct one and now the Tractor is starting in the run position…….Grrrrrrrr I also had him try the other starter solenoid and doing the same thing. Well it starts, it charges, it turns off, just not correctly. I am thinking there is a crossed wire maybe? Maybe a bad VR ??? Starter Generator?? I am defiantly upset at all of this, but hopefully I can find something out of order in there and get it working. Thanks again everyone !!!! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
