The “Plow Dog”
Good morning Guys!
I am a member of several GT related forums out there. One of my buddies suggested that I Join here. He said that you are a great group of guys and would be a good fit. I likely know many of you anyway. I like most Garden tractors but IH Cub’s are my favorite. It was a 1772 that brought me the yellow and white fever about 7 years ago and I haven’t looked back since. I buy and sell some to help aid my craving for this hobby but I usually have at least 6 or so in my shed at any given time plus a few other brand tractors including Wheel Horse, Case, etc. I enjoy using my cubs for a variety of tasks but my all time favorite past time is furrow (field) plowing! Nothing like hooking a Brinly 10 or 12” behind one of these mini tractors and making them work for their “keep”! I’m looking forward to being part of the community here. I’m a busy guy as a residential building contractor, a youth pastor at our local church, and a father of four children (ranging in age from 4-13). My oldest has become a “plow dog” himself and owns a 125 that we will begin restoring next summer and a highly modified 127 with Briggs V-twin for plowing. My second son owns a Cub 100 that we call “the Mule”. It has been at multiple PD’s across the Midwest already and is a great little tractor. I consider myself a forum drifter as opposed to a lurker. I’ll be active for awhile and then I get really busy with life and drift away to focus on those things. Then when life stabilizes, I drift back. I know that doesn’t make for the best member but at least I’m honest about it... Besides these little tractors, I enjoy competitive cowboy Action shooting and old cars. Mostly I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife and children. Again, I’m glad to be part of the community. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
