New 1782 need help
Hi guys I’m new to the forum.
I just purchased a 1782 diesel and I’m new to the GT diesel world, the gentleman that I bought it from said 5 years ago he was mowing with it and it just quiet running and hasn’t ran since. So I got it home and and clean the old fuel out of it and hooked up jumper cables and the key didn’t do anything. So, I jumped the solenoid on the starter and it turned over and I heard the solenoid on the fuel work. I noticed that the LOW OIL light stays on. I know it needs a new starter/solenoid but I really would like to here it run, on try to start before I dump a lot of money into it. This is what I’ve done or found so far, fuel pump is working when I turn the key, I have power at the solenoid when I turn the key and when I preheat the glow plugs I have power at them, as well and the fuel solenoid is working. The question with the oil light being on would will it not start? Sorry for being so long winded, just new to the group and GT diesel world. A ll help is appreciated, thanks
