My 1863 has been a fantastic tractor not fond of the plastic skin but with everything else this has been just a great running tractor for my Grandfather and now myself for years. Now I'm having an issue. Started it up 2 days ago, it was running strong on start up then all it once completely shuts off. Went to start nothing at all. My 20amp fuse blew-replaced. Tractor starts but shuts off in 5 seconds. I started with bypassing my seat switches-no change. I found out it would stay running on low rpms with choke on. Checked my fuel lines and flow-Good. Still at full throttle stops in 5 seconds or less. I pulled air cleaner base off ran a wire from battery to red wire fuel solenoid-starts up and runs great at full throttle with no issue-Im not much of an electrical guy that's where my electrical diagnostic ability pretty much stops. The only thing I can add is the last time I was mowing I noticed my amp gauge had lit for a period of time. I sure would appreciate some experienced advice here. I do plan on starting the process of looking and checking my wire connections.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
