hi again, look at the link that Darkminion gave. It shows what Mr. boob was talking about, not in the photos but in the text. It says the belt on the left side has to go outside of the left front hanger. The only way to do that is to drop the mower down.

I am pretty new to the Cub mowers but there does seem to be several different types of decks for each size of cut. I couldn't find a model number on my deck, it's been painted over the years and didn't want to scrape the paint off to find the stamped in numbers.

Does you deck have the main deck drive pulley in the center of the deck? Mine is on the left spindle not the center. Does you deck have a rod going over the top of the discharge chute? Mine does. Is it possible your deck is a 42 inch not a 44? My deck housing measures more like 48 inches from the left side to the end of the discharge chute.

The 1450 Cub I bought to make my crawler from had the drive pulley on the center spindle and was a 42 inch cut.
