38" deck identification help
Greetings
New owner of a 129 and cadets in general. The 129 came with a deck that wasn't attached to the tractor and no belts. The deck has been "modified" and the location where the tag should be to ID the deck is missing. Is there anyway I can ID this deck so I can figure out which belts I need exactly? It appears from my reading that there are 3 generations of the 42" deck that my tractor could use. It appears each generation uses a different size Mule Drive belt so I'm not sure which to get. (80", 81" or I think the 3rd was 78"?) The deck appears to have the cast iron nose piece. ( did they all come with this?) I can't tell if the ends are cast or not since they have been cut off and angle iron was added (probably due to cancer) It does have a spring tensioner on it so I'm thinking it's at least the 2nd or 3rd gen. Was there anything else that distinguished from the 2nd and 3rd gen decks? I think the belts I need are IH477599 R2 1/2x77 (spindle belt) ? IH 490489 R2 1/2 x 80 (mule drive) My apologies if deck ID has been gone over, I tried searching here, google, using google to search here and failed locating this information if it's available. In the meantime I'm charging batteries so I can attempt to snap some pics of the deck if needed.
