Hey guys, I'm looking for info on my "found" IH CC #122 tractor. I'm including pics I took to see if you guys can tell me what I have and where to start in rehabilitating it. I'm not currently an engine rebuilder, but I'm pretty good with taking things apart, putting them back together and making them run in the process! This tractor was found in my shed and I'm only just looking at it for the first time. I haven't done anything with it or attempted to make it run. What I do know is that the air filter is rusted in the holder unit, but I kept it to get a proper size. I'll need to replace it for sure though.
I really haven't looked at the controls, attempted to start it or anything. So if you can tell me where to start, I'd appreciate it. Like I said - NEW AND CLUELESS! ![]() Here are some of the pics I took. It was found with some accessories, which are still sitting in my shed untouched. I also found a second Wheel Horse #522 tractor in there too, which appears to be in far better condition. On another note, I'm looking to get a mower for my property if this beast can't be resurrected. Any suggestions? I need a 36" deck or bigger. THANKS! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
