I finished up a personal project a few days ago...
This is a half scale model of one of my Dad's sweet corn wagons. I'm using it for advertising. Every tractor show I go to, I'm going to hook them together. All 4 wheels are take offs from the mini's I've been building. (I'd have almost $300 in tires and rims if they were new... that's nuts!) The first pict was right after I built it. It has 800 pound of potatoes on the bed. (My Dad and brother grow potatoes.) I wanted to test it with weight before painting it in-case I had to beef it up. I drove it around the barn, over bumps, and it was good to go. So I tore it down and painted. We always had JD running gear, so that's what I patterned it after. I'm going to have picts of the 2 IH tractors on the wagon when I bring it to Red Power. I wanted to put some "Green" on the wagon for local shows... The sides are made out of 1/2" sign plywood. The last pict is what they will look like at a show. I made a light duty hitch for the plow, so I could have it mounted for the shows, and still pull the wagon. www.TheLittleTractorCo.blogspot.com The little 826 and display wagon will be at the Saline Farm Fest, in Saline Michigan on May 7th. They will also be at the Durand Railroad Days, in Durand Michigan, May 13-15th, and the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Assn. 29th Annual Swap and Sell, May 18-21st, in Portland Indiana. I won't personally be at all of these events every day, but I will be dropping off and picking up the tractor. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
