All this warm weather has us itching to get back in the game on this project. The garage in town is insulated, meaning that it generally stays about 40 degrees, which is very comfortable and only requires a small heater for real comfort.
So, hopefully in the next few weeks, we'll get the engine running to makes sure I fixed the leak. Then, come spring we can rip it apart again and start the paint process again. There will be some touch up due to nicks and scratches during the move. Here it is ready for us to begin work in it's new home... don't be fooled, it is held together with only a few bolts, as I had to hurry up and get it ready for the move. There are a couple of cans of parts nearby, and I hope we didn't lose some in the move. |

This project is a long time coming, but we are moving along! My son has lost interest, but I'd like to get this thing running before winter for the snow blower.
The paint is coming along, though the fender pan will not get paint this year. It's amazing how badly you scratch new paint when installing the pan. Any ideas on foot pads? I was thinking of using truck bed liner. Also had it running breifly for the first time in 2 years. Now to hook up the gas tank and get a new battery! Thanks for watching |

Finally finished up the hood and installed it. Now we are trying to get it running.
I bought new battery, installed it, and could not get the rig to turn over. It was turning over fine when jumpered to my minivan and the old dead battery. The solonoid just clicks. I reattached all the wires and checked the tightness of the mounts. Now it rolls over as if the battery is dead. My jumper box does not help rememdy the situation. What else do I need to check? (the battery has 13.5 volts). Thanks! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
