Installing a BB36 on an original and need to know the diameter of the crankshaft end drive pulley. Engine is currently equipped with the 3.5" pulley that powers the deck. This is the same dia as the 90 deg gearbox pulley on the thrower.
So, the real question is this: Should the crank pulley be larger or smaller diameter than the gearbox puuley or are they the same? The part #'s are different due to the difference in shaft size. |

I must be the only one in the world installing one of these on an original, huh!!
Sokmething is not right as the idler pulley hits the ctank pulley when engaging the belt. The A25 belt in the parts lookup is too short and the next size belt is too long leading me to think the C/S pulley should be smaller. Sure could use some help on this one Guys |

Will a smaller C/S pulley make the thrower run slower or faster?

The smaller one will make it run at the correct speed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
