Thanks Sam. I have no panels at all but serial number indicates a 97 model year build. I will likely buy all that. Now someone give me a deal on an 1863 fender pan!

Thought you had a 2284? Anyway try the sponsors at the top of the page, Patton Acres and Cub Classics or one of our members, rweaver. They all part out Cubs and sell used parts.

How much would you give for a 1641 with all the plastic broken? Not everyone has a 2284 or any Super that is worth quite a bit more.

If you have a valuable tractor you're working on, then it would make sense to put more into the repairs.

This is how I deal with broken plastic on one that isn't overly valuable.

I've been down this road a couple of times so far, and what I found is when you find someone with plastic panels in good shape they think they are made of gold. The prices I found were sometimes 80-90% of the cost of a new piece. Since you are dealing with a tractor that you can still get new panels for it all comes down to what your budget can bear. It's easy to spend more than the tractor is worth restoring it. Start by making it mechanically sound and keep you eyes open for fairly priced used panels. Since you are working on a 2284 any of the air cooled tractor plastics will fit. Like mentioned before, look at what the site sponsors have available, keeping in mind the prices Sam posted.

931-3178 GRILLE $100.88
931-3115A SIDE PANEL-LH $146.80
931-3116 SIDE-PANEL-RH $148.93
931-3089B HOOD $159.48
Complete hood, grill & sides $556.09

759-3773 Kit, Grille w/Round Lamps $120.37
Complete hood, grill, sides & lights $575.58
I do believe the prices on the side panels do not include the screen on the side.

So more moola.

Ran across this while digging for some info on 1535's. Evidently Mid West Super Cub has or was playing with fiberglass Cyclops hoods. Think I give them a call and see what I can find out.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
