It does appear to be pretty unique. I've seen one picture of a dusty one under a pile of stuff on an old auction site (gone now), and a mention as a line item on another old auction, but that's it. Most searches just turn up pictures of starter motors. |

Bigger job to get this beast apart than I expected, so haven't mowed with it since the first time when I got it home.
However, I have been poking around on the web, and by looks, the snowblower attachment that is pictured appears extremely similar to a Kubota G2538 attachment. http://auction.repocast.com/details....1150107#photos Bucket shape, bolt patterns, chute style, etc. all appear the same. Chute direction change worm-drive is on the wrong side, though. The black bits in the image I posted from the brochure that link the blower to the tractor appear to be mockups - all the other ones are yellow and slide onto the two 1" square bars that poke out the front of the tractor unit. The black bits appear to replace the bars and perhaps mount where they do. Maybe someone grabbed a Kubota attachment, painted it yellow, and slapped it on for a photo shoot? Still trying to figure out what happened with the GMT line, why it never got filled out, etc. Will post pics when I get the beast further apart so y'all can see the clutch-brake steering mechanisms. Way different from the usual dual idler-pulley-clutch belt drives or differential with brakes on each side, or hydrostatic. BTW, since this is such an oddball, which portion of the forum should I post a "refurb and questions" thread? It's CCC/MTD rather than IH/CC, but it is a walk-behind... |

I think the "General Talk" section would probably be best for this one, but I've been wrong before.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
