Thank you to the OP for doing what was suggested without questioning or arguing. So much of the time it takes us about 20 posts to convince someone that a dirty fuel system is the issue.
Maybe because it's a PITA to do when you have to remove the fender pan just to get at the tank and most of the bolts are rusted after 20 +- years?

If fixing old machines was easy, women and children would do it too.
(No offence DeltaCub. Your in the minority. )

I dunno.... I just come from a different view point I guess. A bad day of working on a Cub is usually better than a good day working on things I have spent my lifetime working on. Even stuff on a Cub that is a PITA really isn't that bad compared to say, changing heater core on a Lexus. Or changing a rotor belt on a plugged combine in the middle of bean harvest, on a hot day in October. (Bean dust is itchy, and it's worse when your sweating.) Or fixing a blown hydraulic hose in the belly of a backhoe on the coldest day in February in a somewhat frozen field of mud, while it's snowing and blowing. See.... it really isn't that bad to pull the fenders a fuel tank.

For me the issue wasnt having to do the work (ie..removing tank, cleaning everything, installing new fuel lines, etc.) I actually enjoy working on almost any older vehicle. MUCH more fun than newer cr@p.

It is the timing of the repair! ... lol

I had a million things to get done, with my Saturday all planned out. How quickly my plans changed when the Cub decided to thro this fit.

I have a set of the Meg-Mo blades on this unit, and need it to mulch leaves later this week.

Again....thanks for the "spot on" repair suggestion!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
