Default LTX 1040 - want it gone- what's it worth?

I inherited a LTX 1040 and I have no idea what it's worth but I want it gone. What I do know is that it has 122 hrs and a bagger. 22hp engine if I recall. Great shape but not mint. I don't normally post here so forgive me.

No I don't have any pix of it at the moment which is terrible I know

Craigslist is your friend, although you will probably get more money if you wait till spring.

I'm not at all familiar with that model so I can't even guess at a value. If it is one of the cheaper built "big box store" models, I see prices all over the place. Hopefully someone will chime in soon regarding the quality of those machines. I would keep an eye on CL for that model for sale in areas very similar to yours and base a price on that.

I got one with a blown Courage last year. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=40705 I didn't use it much this year but it's not a bad mower. If I decide to sell it in the spring I would probably try to get $500-$600 for it. There are a few on Craigslist here that are held in higher esteem than mine is. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=40705 and http://nwga.craigslist.org/grd/5846081026.html I would do a "Cub" search on your local Craigslist and see what prices are.

$500-$600 is the asking price around here. I have no idea what the selling price is.

My next door neighbor has one. Seems something is always going wrong with it and he drags it over here to get fixed. I loaned him one of my 1641's which are 25 years old. He now has me on the lookout to find a good 1641 and he'll buy it and throw the 1040 away.

No offense intended to 1000 series Cub owners.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
