Default Early Lift Arm

I picked up a QA36A Snow Thrower that came off a later WF. I have the QA adapter on my 124 so that part was easy. The later lift arm wasn't going to work...

So I made one...

Works great. I added an assist spring too, but I think I need to modify it for a little more tension. It helps, but not as much as I would have hoped. Not sure where the lift arm came from but it was cut and welded and was way to short. So... I cut and rewelded it longer. I may have to try and make a new one because it looks horrible. But it works...

if you cant find the right one... build it.

i made a "lift assist" for my blower last year. i used a trunk lift support that was rated at 110lbs of lift. id say it cut off about half the strength required to lift the blower.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
