Default 1440 blows fuse.

I have a 1440 that I bought cheap it keeps blowing the fuse. Side note is someone removed the pto( they cut wires and removed it and pto switch). I've replaced switch. It did run if you jump solenoid( which is new) I bought a ignition switch fro TSC that had same pin set up. Didn't change anything accept that it won't stay running even with old ignition in now. Like I said it ran before I tried new ignition switch just had to jump solenoid. It does have other issues but trying tp figure this out now.

Welcome to OCC!
First off, download the electrical wiring diagram and using your VOM follow it as you check each circuit, and correct the problems as they are detected.
As far as ign. switches, most all look alike as far as terminal location in the "will fit section" of TSC, Blows, Home cheepo and Farm & home stores.
Stay away from Scamazon as a lot of their parts are counterfeit as they don't
certify their merchants as they should.
All is not what appears at the look of an ignition.
Just like wall stitches in ones home, so many variables to consider.

Best to go to the top of our header page and click on cub cadet parts look up and follow the prompts as you locate your model and get the correct part number then go from there.

Guessing and loading the "parts cannon" most times results in bigger problems that you started with.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
