Thumbs up

Just wanted to say thank you for the help. I received parts from Cub Cadet Specialties and with the links you all provided I was able to complete the repair…pictures attached. I also added some shims to take out some of the play in worn pivot points.

I still need to adjust the trunion for neutral but before I finished I noticed a rather serious clunk in the rear end/ differential. That will be my next question which I will do in another post.

Default Thank you

Just wanted to thank you all for your help with this repair. I still need to adjust but found a clunk in the rear end I want to track down first. I also added a few 10 thou shims to take up some of the slack on pivot points of the trunion.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
