Here's the best I've got for a picture. That piece you are talking about is the lower 3-point bracket, and is part of the IH 3-point hitch assembly.
Oops, that picture is just the 3-point with no sleeve hitch adapter. The sleeve hitch adapter consists of the U-shaped piece of metal, 2 clevis pins to attach it to the 3-point lower bracket, either lift straps (OEM) or chains (what I typically use) to connect the sleeve hitch adapter to the upper cast-iron part of the 3-point hitch, as well as a couple more clevis pins for the straps/chains. You'll also need a 5/8" hitch pin to connect the implements, and I'm sure some people will say you need a draft plate (someone must have a picture) but I never use one. |

Once again, thank you. I have none of these parts on my tractor. It almost sounds like I need a 3 pt hitch set up for my Cub? And then some type of linkage to go to my hydraulics to raise and lower.

Hey Merk,
Thank you very much. I can finally see what everyone's been talking about. Unfortunately, I have absolutely none of these parts. But now I know what to look for. I understood the sleeve hitch adapter, but was confused on the "yellow" parts bolted right on the tractor. What are they called as far as looking and ordering? |

Those parts are the 3-point hitch.

Thanks Matt. I've been looking for a 3 pt hitch. All the ones I see advertised are never for a 122. What other model Cubs are compatable with a 122?

Couldn't you just make them? That is what I am planning on doing??? Am I nuts?

Jeff122-
Any 3-point meant for a narrowframe will work. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
