So, what do you all use on the bottom side of the sled so as not to tear up the concrete? There's a cement-based er, "test track" right next to my property and we've talked about putting something together between my brother and a few others for some comunity recreation. But I sure wouldn't want to have to replace it!

Do you have a wheel/brake system or skids or what?

Me and my buddy took an old tool box and welded a chain to some angle iron and bolted the angle iron to the tool box and just use that for a homemade sled. But the fairs that we pull at they just have a big piece of flat metal with the ends bent up a little and have chains to the metal. We pull dead weight and just let the tires get warm and bounce the crap out of the tractor. Stuff breaks in the tranny often though because there is so much stress on them.

we have a couple of pulls every year on asphalt. The sled owner bolts a couple pieces of old rubber track from a big tractor like a challanger or something to the bottom of the skid. our skid is just like the big ones with a moving weightbox.

I am from Reading MI, which is in Hillsdale county, and there is a pull there that is on asphalt. I have never pulled my cub but I went and watched one year. I think I would prefer dirt pulling better.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
