Capability wise is all I meant. If you had a job you were doing with a 149 and swtched to a 1450 the job would go about the same wouldn't it? I guess you could tell how long it took to complete the job with a 1450

Judging by the drippings on the frame and the gas tank on the side, I would say that it has carb problems as the reason why it won't run, but that is a shot in the dark. A 1450 in worse shape than that went for $575 at a local auction and the blade for it went for $150.
Good point bocephus1991 about the rearend. I saw that black hub and thought the same thing. Seems like other members have posted in the distant past about the aluminum rear end and tillers.....not for sure. Let us know if you land it Justin... Cub Cadet 123

That's what I was getting at, the aluminum rear end housing not being at heavy or as stout as a cast housing. I have both, my 1200 is cast the 1211 is aluminum. All I've ever heard was it is better to have the cast rear instead of the aluminum ones.

I meant heavy as in weight. The aluminum ones are just as strong. Now in tractor pulling, the aluminum gear drive trans are not as strong as the CI ones, but that's a whole different ball game. Only difference between the Al and CI hydro rears is the weight difference.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
