Your trunnion needs more than just the springs and end caps. Those grooves that are cut in the corners need to be addressed before you throw new parts at it as a fix....
Those grooves should have a spot of weld tacked in the corners, then filed down to make a nice clean corner. Then install your springs and end caps

Kind of.... but no, it won't. On a flat surface, yes. There is no "governor" on the hydro. When it comes under a greater load (hill) it WILL slow down. When going downhill it WILL speed up.

I plasma cut these out of 1/8" stainless,,, I should have made a couple hundred,,



I think it would be impossible for the spring to wear the stainless,,,



especially, considering that it is starting with a plasma cut surface,,,

Just an observation on the worn trunnion arm, if the spring is centered on the damper plate, it doesn't wear the arm out in the corners. The 1811 had 1500 hours and had virtually no wear. The 2072 had half that many hours and was worn out more (not as bad as some I have seen). The 2072 was not centered and the 1811 damper plate was perfectly centered on the spring.
