Yes, it helps. There is a plastic panel that gets removed right? I have to look at mine now.

Not plastic...it's steel. This is a Cub Cadet, not a JD...
![]() The one in your link is missing the lift block, and you don't need the bracket that the cast piece is connected to. |

Well, it sure has a different finish than all the other steel parts. I am a rookie, but I do know that there is no green paint on my tractor.
I thought that I remembered reading about a plastic panel that should be removed in one of the manuals that I have read online. I will have to double check. I don't want to sound stupid around all you guys here.

It's steel. If it isn't, someone made something and put it on there at some point. And FYI, the installation instructions for that series are slightly different than for your 125, but you'll be able to figure it out after you look at your tractor.

In the manual your referring to, it states "remove and discard the three lower bolts from the transmission case rear cover plate"
These would be the bolts only as longer ones will be needed... Jeff (teet)

Okay, just to recap,
Yes, the one on epay that you showed us is the correct one, however it has an extra part that you don't need for your 125 (part #8 in the exploded view in post #2 of this thread) it appears to be MISSING part #3 that you WILL need, and it also contains a brinly style spring assist that isn't manditory (but sure is nice to have). The casting (part #2) is attached with pin #1 up under the back of the seat as described in post #15 of this thread. Part #3 bolts to the bottom area (under the tractor) of the lift handle and is (no matter how you slice it) a PITA to install. So, I am either gonna let you figure that part out by yourself OR let someone else explain it, because (in case you didn't already know) I get kinda wordy sometimes and I think it really angers some of the other members. BTW, did you buy the one on epay? |
