Default 126 running issues

didnt want to post this in my thread... so made new one for thoughts.

the video sucks. but to break it down.
im at 1/2 - 3/4 throttle running and its smoking every few seconds.
then u can see where i go full throttle. and it does it also but not so much...
u can tell a lil better with the exhaust towards black car.

i did notice it has a bad head gasket... replacing that tommorow.
and the air filter is letting unmetered air in... which im fixing tommorow

any insight.
thanks.

Once you decarbon the head make sure it's flat (there's a guide in the tractor tech section) check your plug I use autolite 216's in my cubs. Check your oil level to make sure it's not to high. And always check your timing using the static timing method or with a timming light. Once you do those lets see if it's still smoking.

Yeah any auto parts store should have the autolite 216. They are like $2 each. Get your plug wire there as well. Take your old one tho.

I prefer Champions (if they're made in USA. Check the box, some are made here and others overseas. Wix and Purolator filters are that was as well. Just a FYI.), but if the Champs are foregin, I normally ask for an AC Delco. Anything 2 cycle or Japanese I'll use NGK.

Everyone has their own preferences, and so long as your plug of choice works well, run with it! Ditto with a spark plug wire and such.

Several people on OCC have had problems using champion plugs. That's the reason I use the Autolites never a problem and they are priced right. I do agree use what you like it's your money not mine so spend it as you see fit.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
