SLTX 1050 and a MTD 190-823 Blower
Hi, I'm new to the forum as I have purchased a SLTX 1050 tractor. I found a barely used MTD 190-823 blower, and was wondering what I would need to get it to fit. Thanks in advance, Allen Clark

Allen
You may want to take a look at the Cub and MTD parts sites http://www.mtdparts.com/webapp/wcs/s.../MTF2/190-823/ http://www.cubcadet.com/webapp/wcs/s...00505_-1_image Hope these help. Sorry I'm not more help, I tend to stick to the Cyclops and some of the 72 series stuff. Once in a while I play with the 2000 series but I don't get into the newer stuff. Good luck. Sam

Didnt take long... Went to White's Farm Supply in Canastota this morning and Jake, the very nice young man in the Parts. Dept, showed me the update kit to get my blower to fit, all for $129, or whatever it was. Since I'm tighter than two coats of paint (not really, I just don't like to spend it if I don't need to), I used about 20 mins. of my fabricating knowledge, and made what I had work. Blower is all mounted, now I just need to figure out the belt system.
Still looking forward to being a member of this forum though! |

How about a pic of the setup you made.

Love to Sam... I made an attempt, but I haven't taken the time to try and figure out how to post photos here yet...

Here is my blower mounted. I have new chains waiting to be mounted and I also stumbled upon some wheel weights at the farm today I forgot we had! They were half buried in the ground, but I dug them out and brought them home and I am pretty sure they will work! I will keep you updated.

Oh come on Sam! I also acquired a snowmobile, so it will be sure to NOT snow now that I am ready! My weights will work just fine too! I work at NAPA so I mixed up a spray can of CC white today so the weights will match the wheels. I will clean them up good and paint them because I know they wont work if they are John Deere yellow!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
