Can I tow my 2082??? HELP?
My 2082 SGT with the Honda repower from Small Engine Warehouse is dead in the water. I've got a guy from the local Honda Engines shop coming to pick it up next week, but I need to know if it can be towed at all? I don't see a release anywhere - do the valves have an automatic release built in?
When I called and described the issue and what I had already tried to resolve it, the guy said "was this repower a kit from Small Engine Warehouse?" I have dealt with Small Engine Warehouse on several occations and I am not really pleased with the service that they offer there. Let me know gang, thanks, Ross

I once towed my 129 a 1/4 mile, still running as good as new. Oh and our driver pulls old Cubs all the time out of back yards, but he has only pulled one out of the water, just so happened to be a snapper! |

Keep us posted.....and I'd like to know more about how/why he asked if it was a repower kit from SEW? I've always been a little curious about why they seem to have carried Honda repowers for some time, but now only offer the vanguards.

Any idea what the issue is with the Honda? I have a SEW 20HP in a JD and it runs awesome.

At this point the issue with the Honda seems to be electrical - it keeps blowing a diode since I replaced the battery. The tractor was hard starting usually, but the battery died and wouldn't take a charge after sitting for two months during our drought. After I replaced the battery it ran great for a while, I shut the tractor off to say hello to my wife when she got home from work and when I went to start it back up it was hard starting. One more time around the yard and it stopped dead, not stalling out - off all at once. When I tried to start it again it blew the diode.
What the guy at the service shop told me was that SEW sell good engines, but that some of their kits aren't really thought out well or proven and it is usually the electrical side of things that they mess up. I've mentioned on here before how hot my engine runs (melting the hoods) and MattG explained how the original engine would have had a lot of baffles and gaurds to force the air where it needed to be for cooling. Perhaps my electrical issue is actually caused by a heat issue. I'll let you all know when I find out. Later, Ross

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
